Papiniano

  • Facts

The project recomposes the urban front with the construction of a residential building adhering to the existing blind front, thus reconstructing the building curtain towards viale Papiniano and the corner with via Ghisleri.

The building has three different facades depending on the views of viale Papiniano, via Ghisleri and towards the internal courtyard. The main volume is designed with a continuous façade in porcelain stoneware slabs and rust metallized frames, from this volume projects, towards viale Papiniano, a loggia consisting of three-dimensional elements distributed on a double order and shielded by sliding windows. Towards the courtyard, the residences overlook with a system of framed balconies and metal parapets, a reference to the Milanese houses with railings.

The crowning of the building is designed in continuity with the roof of the neighboring building and is punctuated by vertical stone elements and transom windows of the rust metallized windows. The geometry of the attic follows the overall lines of the roof of the adjacent building and thus allows to generate an open space overlooking the city.
